At one of the adult film studios I used to work at, there was a friend of mine whose unwritten job description included being on the lookout for girls interested in making that big leap from, say, erotic dancing or just hanging out on the beach in a thong, to films.

Now, there are all sorts of jobs in the adult industry that are a lot less fun than they seem. And when you work in this field, it's hard to explain to your porn hound friends that after a few months of looking through a magnifying glass at productions stills of girls in various states of penetration and arousal, it becomes just like any other job.

However, if my scouting friend had ever groused about his lot in life, I probably would have been compelled to punch him in the face.

Nikki Benz used to be one of those girls whom my friend would have sought out. What was most fortunate for Pleasure Productions, who just signed the bodacious blonde to an exclusive contract, is that their scouts didn't have to lift a finger. She sought them out.

All it took the Toronto model/dancer to secure the contract, despite her lack of on-camera credentials, was an email to director Jim Gunn. Gunn was so impressed by what he saw that he immediately flew her down to Florida to shoot some scenes, then arranged a meeting between Benz and Pleasure's President Frank Kay.

The rest was porn history.
